Giving Back with Heart: Our Donation to BEAR Necessities

At Bird + Bear Kids, our mission has always been about more than just creating safe, organic sleep products for babies—we’re committed to giving every child a safe, supported start in life. That’s why we were so honored to recently partner with BEAR Houston through their incredible BEAR Necessities and Back to School programs.

This month, we had the opportunity to donate a collection of our GOTS-certified organic sleep sacks to the BEAR Rooms—safe, welcoming spaces that serve thousands of at-risk and CPS-involved children across the greater Houston area. These rooms provide NEW essentials year-round, including clothing, shoes, diapers, car seats, school supplies, and more. Last year alone, BEAR supported over 30,000 children through this initiative—and we’re humbled to now be a small part of their big impact.

We dropped off the donation in person—joined by my son, who helped deliver the sleep sacks and experience firsthand what it means to serve others. As a mother and founder, it was a powerful reminder of why Bird + Bear Kids exists: to create comfort in moments of uncertainty and help families feel seen, safe, and supported.

Our visit also coincided with BEAR’s annual Back to School program, which provides over 16,000 children with the supplies they need to begin the school year with confidence. From backpacks to pencils and notebooks, these everyday items become lifelines of stability and hope. Knowing that some of the youngest children served by BEAR will sleep more safely because of our donation is both humbling and deeply motivating.

For us, giving back is personal. We believe safe sleep should never be a luxury—and through partnerships like this one, we aim to remove barriers for families facing hardship. Every sleep sack we donate is a promise: that every child deserves to be cared for with dignity, love, and safety.
